Oh my favourite season of the year is here again...It's time to stroll into the Christmas wonderland !. .festive cheer is everywhere, it really makes me feel like celebrating..not sure since when I get so enthusias about this holiday season...my family and I are buddhism, so basically the birth of Christ isn't significant to us, but there's no harm joining in the fun...we're Malaysian. Especially when you're surrounded with amazing spread of delicious christmas goodies..
Anyhow, Merry Christmas to all!

A Little Overboard!
After weeks of testing out new recipes, I suddenly felt the urge to do something simple and familiar..felt like making something warm and delctably divine.. Classic Chocolate Butter Cake. No fancy twiddling around or exotic ingredients, just simple, fresh, fragrant promises of happiness from the oven.
That was what I intended to do...anyway, I went a little overboard. I couldn't decide if i'd wanted a plain chocolate cake or a chocolate cake with ganache frosting...or perhaps green tea frosting.. haha. In the end, i'd decided to make all as a taste-testing experiment, of course.
What started as a simple desire for chocolate butter cake turned into a full blown project as I settled with a chocolate ganache for the chocolate butter cake, and a clasic combination, matcha (green tea) cupcake with azuki filling, which baked up beautifully in miniature form. The matcha cupcake is light, not overly sweet: all hallmarks of asian patisserie, while the chocolate version is richer, with a more intense flavour.
Perhaps I went a little carried away with the experimentation, but the result is certainly worth it...don't you think so?
